On Friday June 13, 2025, award-winning rising star soprano Golda Zahra will be joined by the 50-piece Dream Orchestra, under the baton of Daniel Suk and the Opera Chorus of Los Angeles for an unforgettable evening of sacred music at Santa Monica’s historic St. Monica Church. All proceeds will benefit the Ministry of St Monica for their uplifting community response in the wake of the devastating Los Angeles fires.

For the Angelic Voice Concert Zahra, hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “the rising star of the opera world” will be joined by the 50-piece Dream Orchestra, under the baton of Daniel Suk, and the Opera Chorus of Los Angeles. Performing some of the most heavenly music ever composed, the repertoire includes Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus, Mozart’s Ave Verum, Beethoven’s 9th Symphony Finale - Ode to Joy, and inspirational popular pieces such as “The Prayer,” “You Raise Me Up,” and many more.

This is the second of four diverse concerts this summer throughout Los Angeles for Golda Zahra which began May 24 with a free community concert at the Beverly Canon Gardens. Zahra wowed the capacity crowd, showcasing her beautiful voice and impressive vocal range with a program of Broadway hits, jazz favorites and arias backed by a six-piece ensemble. A proud Beverly Hills native she was honored by the city with a letter of recognition presented by Mayor Sharona Nazarian for her “musical gifts and community spirit.”

Golda Zahra’s summer concert series will continue July 12 at the BroadStage in Santa Monica and conclude August 16 at Walt Disney Concert Hall where she will portray the role of Liu in Puccini’s Turandot. For further information go to www.goldazahra.com

More about Golda Zahra

In 2020, Golda Zahra made her operatic debut as Violetta Valéry in Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata in Padova, Italy. In 2022, as a finalist for Rai Radio’s “Voci in Barcaccia” international opera competition, she recorded a CD for RAI Radio, and her performance was broadcast live from Rome.A winner of the 2015 Los Angeles Music Center’s Spotlight Award, Golda has since appeared as a soloist in major oratorio works including Mozart’s Requiem, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, and Handel’s Messiah. She has performed at renowned venues such as Walt Disney Concert Hall, Royce Hall (UCLA), and The Saban Theatre with esteemed ensembles including The Hollywood Chamber Orchestra, Burbank Philharmonic, Southeast Symphony, The Dream Orchestra- Daniel Suk, conductor and LA Opera under the baton of James Conlon. Golda’s operatic journey began at just 4 years old, attending performances and listening to opera with her parents. She went on to study classical piano and musical theater, eventually joining the Colburn Music School participating at LA Opera’s community programs, It was at Colburn, where she met maestro Daniel Suk, conductor of the Dream Orchestra sparking their long-standing ongoing collaboration.

About Daniel Suk, the Dream Orchestra

As a conductor and music director, Daniel has led orchestras and ensembles with both artistic excellence and innovative leadership. From 1996 to 1999, he served as conductor of the Chamber Orchestra of Mantova, specializing in Baroque and Classical masterworks, including the revival of overlooked repertoire. He went on to serve as Artistic Director and Conductor of L’Opera Laboratorio in Verona from 1998 to 2000, producing and conducting over 40 concerts and opera productions, including the world premiere of G. Gazzaniga’s L’Isola al Cina and numerous performances for the Verona Summer Opera Festivals.

Since returning to Los Angeles, Daniel has conducted at virtually every major concert venue in Southern California and has performed on more than 100 stages throughout the United States.In 2011, he founded The Dream Orchestra, an all-professional ensemble that has become one of Southern California’s premier performing arts organizations. Under his artistic leadership, the orchestra has developed and presented a wide range of acclaimed symphonic concerts, ballet productions, choral masterworks, and cross-disciplinary collaborations. Notable productions include a full staging of Giselle with the Pasadena Civic Ballet during the pandemic, Korea Fantasy at Walt Disney Concert Hall featuring over 500 performers, and gala concerts with world-renowned soloists such as violinists Inmo Yang and Ye-Eun Choi, and pianists Fabio Bidini, Yeol-Eum Son, and Ray Ushikubo.

About the Opera Chorus of Los Angeles

Daniel Suk also serves as conductor of the Opera Chorus of Los Angeles, a professional vocal ensemble composed of some of the finest opera singers in the region. Together, they have performed major works such as Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Mozart’s Requiem, Verdi’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, and an annual Summer Choral Concert at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. His annual Opera Gala has featured celebrated voices including Julie Adams, Angel Blue, Joshua Guerrero, Seok Jong Baek, Karah Son, Vladimir Chernov, and Nicolas Brownlee, along with rising stars from major opera houses and international competitions.
